Multiple OS
Learn which Operating Systems you may run on your server.
An Operating System is the software which interacts with the hardware of a computer system and is the intermediary between the installed applications and the hardware, including peripheral devices such as a printer, a computer mouse or a keyboard. When you run an application, it sends requests to the OS using an API (Application Program Interface) and the communication is done through a command line or a Graphical User Interface (GUI). Similar to a personal computer, web servers also have an Operating System that serves as a host for all of the software installed on them, which includes script apps or server-side software such as a flash server, a VOIP server, and so on. A virtual machine can be created on a physical one, so you'll be able to install a guest OS on it and have a different system environment in contrast to the physical server host Operating System.

Multiple OS in VPS Servers
Our
VPS server plans include three Linux releases which you may pick from for the Operating System of your new hosting server - Debian, Ubuntu and CentOS. Aside from being totally free, the OSs are extremely stable and secure and the primary reason to offer all 3 of them is to ensure that you will be able to run any application that you'd like, as different pieces of software have different requirements regarding the environment they can be used on. Each one of the three OSs is supported by a large community of web developers who have generated thousands of software packages which you can set up and use on your VPS. Based on the Operating System which you select, you will also be able to choose between 3 different Control Panels to handle your web hosting content. Needless to say, should you decide that you need some other OS, we can always re-install the server with it. As a paid upgrade, we also offer you weekly updates of the OS for maximum stability and security.

Multiple OS in Dedicated Servers
The
dedicated server packages that we offer come with as many as three different Operating Systems to select from. They are all Linux release - Ubuntu, CentOS and Debian, and not only do they have no license fees, but they’re also considered to be among the most reliable and safe OSs. We provide three different ones as each one of them is backed by a separate community. The packages that you could add on your server are different and this may matter in case you need to install some piece of software with particular requirements regarding the hosting environment. In this light, the web hosting Control Panel which you can select for the dedicated server also depends on the Operating System that you'll select. You may choose any of the three Operating Systems throughout the order process, but if needed, we can always install the server once again with another one upon your request. As an optional service that you can add to the package whenever you want, we can update your OS on a regular basis to keep it as risk-free as possible.
