No Data Corruption & Data Integrity
Discover what No Data Corruption & Data Integrity is and how it can be good for the files inside your hosting account.
Data corruption is the unintentional transformation of a file or the loss of information which usually occurs during reading or writing. The reason could be hardware or software malfunction, and as a result, a file could become partially or completely corrupted, so it will no longer function as it should since its bits will be scrambled or lacking. An image file, for instance, will no longer present an accurate image, but a random combination of colors, an archive will be impossible to unpack as its content will be unreadable, etc. In the event that this kind of a problem occurs and it isn't noticed by the system or by an administrator, the data will get corrupted silently and when this happens on a drive that is a part of a RAID array where the info is synchronized between various drives, the corrupted file shall be reproduced on all the other drives and the damage will become long term. A large number of commonly used file systems either do not have real-time checks or do not have high quality ones that will detect a problem before the damage is done, so silent data corruption is a very common matter on hosting servers where huge volumes of information are kept.

No Data Corruption & Data Integrity in Shared Website Hosting
The integrity of the data which you upload to your new
shared website hosting account will be guaranteed by the ZFS file system which we make use of on our cloud platform. Most internet hosting suppliers, including our company, use multiple hard disk drives to keep content and considering that the drives work in a RAID, identical data is synchronized between the drives all the time. When a file on a drive becomes damaged for reasons unknown, however, it is likely that it will be copied on the other drives because other file systems do not include special checks for that. In contrast to them, ZFS applies a digital fingerprint, or a checksum, for each file. In the event that a file gets damaged, its checksum will not match what ZFS has as a record for it, so the bad copy will be substituted with a good one from another disk drive. Since this happens immediately, there is no possibility for any of your files to ever get corrupted.

No Data Corruption & Data Integrity in Semi-dedicated Servers
In case you purchase one of our
semi-dedicated server packages, you will not have to worry about silent file corruption since we use ZFS - an advanced file system which checks all the files in real time. Every time you upload a file to your website hosting account, ZFS will assign a unique digital fingerprint to it - the so-called checksum. This file will be synchronized between several NVMe drives for redundancy, so if a drive fails, the other ones will take over. ZFS compares the checksum of all copies on the different drives and in case it detects a corrupted copy, it replaces it with a healthy one from a different drive. This happens immediately, so there will be no threat for any part of your content at any moment. In comparison, all the other file systems execute checks only after a system malfunction, but since they don't use anything similar to the checksums that ZFS uses, they will not detect silently corrupted files, so a corrupted copy could be replicated on the rest of the drives as well and you can lose important information. Because this isn't the case with ZFS, we can warrant the integrity of each and every file you upload no matter what.
